I have known Brienna since the beginning of 2018, when she successfully applied for a volunteer position with the City of Ballarat Youth Council and FReeZA program SONIKA.
Youth Councillors are young people who are passionate about being involved in their community and representing the views, ideas and needs of young people in the Ballarat area. SONIKA is another volunteer program where young people plan, manage and run safe events for other young people in our community.
In her volunteer roles Brienna has worked with a range of services and Council departments to develop projects, events, campaigns and advocate for young people in the Ballarat region.
Brienna has been and continues to be an absolute asset to both programs. Her kindness, sense of fun, community spirit and passion for creating positive change and opportunities inspire not only her peers but also the program facilitators, such as myself.
Brienna is a dedicated and hardworking young woman – she has worked with courage and compassion, often stepping outside of her comfort zone to advocate for what she believes in and to support and encourage others.
Brienna has had experience working with children in a few capacities , and has expressed on numerous occasions her passion and dream to pursue a career working with them in some way. So it is exciting to see her taking steps now for further education and employment in an area that brings her so much joy. I have no doubt that she will have an amazing positive impact on many little ones lives , and believe she would be a fun safe option for families to rely upon.
Brienna continues to be an absolute pleasure to work with and I have enjoyed watching her grow into the remarkable young woman she is today. I wish her all the very best in this future endeavour and believe any organisation, family, child or community will be all the better for having her in their lives. Please don’t hesitate to contact me should you require any additional information.
I have known Brienna for around two years, in my role as Youth Engagement and Development Officer at the City of Ballarat. Brienna has been a volunteer with our organisation as part of the FReeZa program and the Youth Council.
Brienna is a remarkable young women, incredibly talented, kind hearted and compassionate. She is responsible and reliable - honest and trustworthy.
In her time with the Youth Council and FReeZa, Brienna has worked with lots of young people, ages 12 to 25 years. Her work has also seen her work with the broader community, in all it's diversity, and Brienna has a beautiful ability to engage and connect with each person she meets. She has been a wonderful colleague and friend to all her peers and has shown such genuine kindness in her mentoring of younger members.
Brienna is very creative and resourceful - she has a range of skills and talents which would no doubt be an asset when working with children. I expect any child would thoroughly enjoy their time with her, and would be all the better for having spent time with Brienna.
The City of Ballarat places absolute importance and priority of Child Safe Standards, and all our volunteers must comply with these standards as well as obtaining a Working With Children Check and Police Check. I have no concerns about Brienna's suitability and ability to provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for a child.
I am very pleased to recommend Brienna for any role, and ultimately, would be delighted to have her care for my own children.
